Project is technological, industrial milestone for Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, UAE; July 30 , 2008: GE Energy has received a contract of more than US$500 million (AED 1.837 billion) to supply equipment to power the world's largest aluminum processing complex at a single site. The Emirates Aluminum (EMAL) production facility is located close to the Arabian Gulf near Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

FARNBOROUGH, England --- July 14, 2008 --- The Dubai government's new low-cost carrier, FlyDubai, has ordered 50 CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft. The engine order is valued at nearly $700 million U.S. at list price. The airline will begin taking delivery in 2009 and is scheduled to have all 50 aircraft operating by 2016.
The CFM56-7B is a product of CFM International (CFM), a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (SAFRAN Group) and General Electric Company.
"The combined $10 billion in orders shows the tremendous demand for our advanced engine technology and services," said Scott Donnelly, president & CEO, GE Aviation. "Our knowledge of this market and relationships in the Middle East have been extremely valuable. This was our most successful show, and it demonstrates how we are winning around the world as the unprecedented demand for global infrastructure products continues to surge."
