Research breakthrough will vastly improve color and crispness of images on LED devices

NISKAYUNA, NY, July, 24, 2014 -- GE announced today a research breakthrough that will vastly improve the color and crispness of images displayed on LED devices -- everything from cell phones and tablets to televisions. Scientists at GE Lighting and GE Global Research developed a phosphor powder that, when packaged inside an LED, push the picture quality of LED electronics to new heights.

Federal Appeals Court Releases Decision in GE Patent Dispute with Mitsubishi

Washington, D.C.---February 29, 2012---Today the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit released its decision regarding GE's (NYSE: GE) patent dispute against Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) for certain wind turbine technologies that GE alleged MHI infringed. The Court reversed the International Trade Commission's (ITC) ruling with regard to the '985 patent, and affirmed with regard to the '221 patent.
