The Most Famous Engine You Never Heard Of
Before the CFM56, GE90, GEnx, and CFM LEAP engines, there was QCSEE. In 1974, GE developed the Quiet Clean Short-Haul Experimental Engine with a NASA grant to look for ways to reduce runway congestion and engine noise.
