Energy’s Digital Era
GE Digital is entering a new era, accelerating customer transitions in energy, aviation, manufacturing and other industries. The GE unit is well positioned for growth with a new CEO, Scott Reese, and a pending new corporate structure. In a multipart series, GE Reports has talked to GE Digital executives to learn more about their plans. Our first story takes a close look at the role software plays in the energy transition and how it is helping utilities bring more renewables online. Read it here and see our video below.

Digital Healthcare
GE Healthcare announced plans to bring to market Edison Digital Health Platform, a data aggregation platform powered by AI. It aims to help solve some of the fundamental challenges that impact patient care: integrating AI into the workflow and helping doctors turn data into insights so they can spend more time with patients and less time in their electronic medical records (EMR). GE Healthcare’s goal is to allow healthcare providers to build their own apps on the platform, purchase GE Healthcare apps, purchase third-party apps or work with third-party app developers to build the apps directly on the platform. GE Reports has the story.

Recyclable Blade
ZEBRA consortium, which stands for Zero wastE Blade ReseArch, developed a recyclable wind blade prototype. LM Wind Power, a ZEBRA member and a GE Renewable Energy subsidiary, designed and made the 62-meter blade at its plant in Ponferrada, Spain, using a special resin from the French chemicals company Arkema and new high-performance glass materials supplied by Owens Corning.
