FARNBOROUGH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2006--Shannon Engine Support (SES) today announced an order for 40 CFM56-7B spare engines. The order is valued at $240 million at list price and the engines are scheduled for delivery between late 2006 and 2010.
CFM56-7B engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma and General Electric Company. SES is a wholly owned subsidiary of CFM International.
SES is one of the industry's leading lessor of CFM56 spare engines and supports nearly 700 aircraft with nearly 90 customers worldwide with a portfolio of 170 engines. The company provides engine leasing solutions tailored to operators' specific requirements. SES leasing options include guaranteed availability, short-term engine leases, operating leases, and engine trading.
All CFM56-7B engines delivered beginning in mid-2007 will be the new Tech Insertion configuration. CFM56 Tech Insertion incorporates improvements in the high-pressure compressor, the combustor, and the high- and low-pressure turbines to provide lower maintenance costs, improved engine emissions, and better fuel burn.
