Manama, September 16, 2004: GE Energy, a global leader in power generation and energy delivery technology, participated in Power-Gen Middle East 2004. GE Energy, along with GE's water technologies business, and other GE related business showcased their latest, reliable, efficient and cost-effective technological solutions to meet the growing demands of the region.

This year at Power-Gen Middle East GE Energy showcased the following products and services:
GE Jenbacher, one of the world's leading manufacturers of gas-fuelled reciprocating engines, packaged generator sets and cogeneration units for power generation, displayed gas engines known for high efficiency, low operating cost and exceptionally high reliability. GE Jenbacher has recently signed a Euros 2.8 million groundbreaking deal to supply Manama Textile Mills, Bahrain with four gas engines.
GE Energy exhibited its extensive portfolio of state-of-the-art emission control technologies, emissions monitoring and thermal performance services. Through its extensive offering of environmental services, GE Energy helps customers meet emerging regulatory requirements.
Through its energy rentals unit, GE Energy is dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions to temporary power generation and temperature control requirements, ranging from 16 KW generators to 22 MW TM2500 mobile turbines. At this year's show, GE displayed its A 50 KVA GE generator.
GE also highlighted the multi-vendor services that it offers all non-GE equipment, including condition assessment, parts, outage planning, routine maintenance and forced outage support using GE Technology Centres of Excellence as the foundation.:
GE Energy's contractual service agreements (CSAs), a solution designed to align GE and customer goals provides contracted performance guarantees such as availability and output. The GE CSA team took customers through innovative solutions geared to ensure and enhance business performance.
GE Water and Process Technologies (GEW&PT), a leading global supplier of water, wastewater and process system solutions featured its water pre-treatment technology. GEW&PT also showcased CleanBlade, its latest technology for turbine cleaning, and water projects that produce municipal water for small to large communities.
