Steps to Run the Proficy Installer

The Proficy Installer can drastically cut your install time when installing multiple GE Vernova products. Use the following steps to install iFIX, Historian, the IGS driver, and the common components Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication.

Steps to Install

  6. Click Accept to continue with the install. The Install Location screen appears.

  7. Leave the default, and wait to confirm that no port conflicts are found.
  8. Click Next. The Credentials screen appears.

  9. For Configuration Hub, enter a Client ID and Client Secret.
Note: Be sure to save the information you enter here, as you will need it later; if you lose this information, you will need to reinstall common components later to set it up again.
  10. For Proficy Authentication, enter a Client ID and Client Secret. Optionally, you can choose to use the same credentials as Configuration Hub with the checkbox provided.

Note: Be sure to save the information you enter here too, as you will need it later; if you lose this information, you will need to reinstall the Common Components later to set it up again.
  11. Click Next to continue. The Start Install screen appears.

The Silent Install option is selected by default and is recommended for most users. The Interactive Install option is provided for advanced users who want to customize their install. Interactive Install is not available when upgrading.

  12. Click Start to continue installing the Common Components. When the install is finished, the Install Complete screen appears.

  13. Click Close. A final message appears asking whether you want to restart your computer or install more products.

  14. Click Install More Products to install the Scada Standalone Server. The installer's Welcome screen appears again.

  15. If not already selected, click SCADA Standalone Server, which includes the SCADA, IGS, Productivity Tools, Historian Collectors, and Historian Server installs.
  16. Click Start. The Review License Agreement screen appears.

  17. Click Accept to continue with the install. The Install Location screen appears.

  18. Leave the defaults, and wait to confirm that no port conflicts are found.
  19. Click Next. The Registration with Configuration Hub screen appears.

At this point, you have two options to proceed.
    • If you have installed Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication, enter the Base URL, Admin Client ID and Admin Client Secret for each. (Later, when you reboot your machine and log into Configuration Hub, the iFIX plug-in will appear in the Navigation pane, ready for use.) If the certificate icons are either red or blue for Configuration Hub or Proficy Authentication, click the icons to trust the certificate(s). When the Certificate Details dialog box appears, click Trust. Click Validate.
Note: If you used the same credentials for both Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication during installation, select the Use Configuration Hub Authentication Credentials check box in the Proficy Authentication section.
    • If you have not installed Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication, click the check box to skip this step and continue the installation. You will have to use the Node Manager Configuration utility to register iFIX with Configuration Hub later, after installing both Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication. See Configuration Hub Registration. Click Next.
  20. The Historian Details screen appears.

  21. Leave the defaults.
  22. Click Next. The Start Install screen appears.

  23. Click Start to continue the install. The actual installation of products now begins.
  24. Wait as the install progresses. When finished, the Install Complete screen appears.

  25. Click Close. A message box appears asking whether you want to restart your computer or install more products.

  26. Click Reboot Now to complete the installation and restart your computer.

  27. As your computer restarts, wait for all processes related to the install to finish running before you start any applications. You will see on screen prompts as the install completes.
