4.3. CimLayout: Tab Container

About this task

The CimLayout tab container creates tabs, each of which can be configured the same way a CimLayout configuration with one tab only is configured.

CAUTION: Make sure that your system resources can support  the number of tabs, splits and the screens that are selected for the CimLayout container.

Procedure

  1. Right-click CimLayout Configuration in the CimLayout Configuration Editor.
  2. Do either of the following.
    • Click Edit>Add Configuration Object on the CimLayout Configuration Editor menu bar.
    • Right-click the selection; select Add Configuration Object on the Popup menu.

    An Add Configuration Object dialog box opens.

  3. Enter and select the following.
    Field Description
    Name Identifies the selected container.
    Type TabContainer
  4. Click OK.

    A tab configuration object is added to the CimLayout Configuration Editor left-pane.

    Note: Each Configuration object that is added to the tab container object will display on its own tab in the CimLayout container.

  5. Select the tab container object.
  6. Do either of the following.
    • Click Edit>Add Configuration Object on the CimLayout Configuration Editor menu bar.
    • Right-click the selection; select Add Configuration Object on the Popup menu.

    An Add Configuration Object dialog box opens.

  7. Add and configure the object type that will define the first tab.

    Note: Any one of the containers, Screen , Splitter or Tab container can be added.

    CAUTION: Make sure that your system resources can support  the number of containers and the screens that are selected for the CimLayout container.
  8. Select the tab container object again to add and configure  one or more additional tabs.

Results

During runtime the tabs are available for selection in the CimLayout container.
