  • The new gas turbine-based district heating plant will replace a previously planned Solid Refuse Fuel boiler plant
  • Project will build on GE’s extensive experience applying HA gas turbine technology to district heating projects in South Korea at GS Power’s Anyang plant

Now Taiwan, which has historically imported vast volumes of fossil fuels to power its growth, is also making good progress on its pledge to generate 20% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025. Renewables made up nearly 14% of Taiwan’s total installed capacity in 2019, up from less than 9% in 2015, according to government statistics.
