Day venue becomes Day/Night venue in record 60 days for ICC Championship
Jaipur, November 3, 2006 - Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Stadium has joined a prestigious list of day/night venues for international cricket matches in India after successfully hosting six matches, including the second semi final between West Indies and South Africa on November 2nd, during the ICC Champions Trophy 2006. As day turned to dusk, each of the six matches basked in the newly installed bright stadium lights.

Frame 6B turbines to provide 120 megawatts of power New GE Oil & Gas Service Center at Ras Laffan underpins commitment to Qatari customers
Doha, Qatar; October 30, 2006: GE's Oil and Gas business has been contracted to supply three Frame 6B gas turbines that will provide approximately 120 megawatts of power for a LNG production facility in Ras Laffan owned by Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited 2, 3 and 4 of Doha, Qatar.
中国北京 -- 2006年10月27日 - GE能源集团水电技术将被应用于中国云南保山槟榔江新建的300兆瓦级水电站项目。
苏家河口水电站将安装三台高水头混流式水轮发电机组，每台最大输出功率达105兆瓦。这三台机组将在GE位于浙江杭州的的新工厂--- 通用电气亚洲水电设备有限公司制造生产。电站业主为云南保山槟榔江水电开发有限公司，电站将为中国国家电网提供电力。
苏家河口水电站配备的水轮机将应用GE最新的高水头水轮机转轮技术。该技术是以1985年GE向云南鲁布革项目提供的水轮机转轮为参考模型发展而来。新开发的转轮可保证机组在更长的时间段内稳定、安全运行，为电站业主创造更多的收益。

计划将于2008年2月开始设备运输工作， 第一台机组预期2009年6月投入商业运行。除了提供水轮发电机组外，GE还将对机组进行模型试验，并为设备的安装提供现场技术指导。

同エッセイ大賞の本年の募集テーマは「出生率1.25~少子化をどう考えますか」。同受賞作は、現在社会に蔓延している「妊娠、出産、子育てへのネガティブなイメージ」こそ、出生率が上がらない理由の一因と指摘し、その解決には夫や家族をはじめとする周囲の人たちの暖かい対応とサポートが不可欠であると述べています。「周囲の支援により、母親は妊娠、出産、子育ての喜びを十分に味わうことができるようになり、子育てを楽しむ人が増えることで、結婚、出産を願う女性が社会全体に増える」と、出産の現場に携わる助産師の視点から、「母親達が子育てを楽しめる環境作り」の必要性をのびやかに提言している作品です。
