The 5 Coolest Things On Earth This Week

Sam Worley
June 10, 2019
Astrophysicists solved a long-standing mystery about black holes, while researchers discovered that cells don’t even need to leave the body for gene editing to work and found a new protein segment that could be targeted to treat autoimmune diseases. It’s from the macro to the micro and all the way back in this week’s coolest scientific discoveries.

Catch some waves like a beaver. Cruise, nano-style, in a car made of molecules. Wander the universe with a runaway black hole the size of 100,000 suns. Or just sit back and relax to the sounds of nature’s jazz musicians. Is this the coolest list of the coolest things in science?

5 Coolest Things On Earth This Week

Tomas Kellner
August 26, 2016
This week we feasted on mysteries hiding deep inside the body and in the deepest universe. We learned about German scientists who figured out how tumor cells tunnel through vessel walls and then hitch a ride in the bloodstream to metastasize elsewhere in the body, we devoured a piece about an Israeli physicist who created a life-like model of a black hole in his lab that could shine light on the future of physics, and we marveled at a galaxy made almost entirely of dark matter. Read on, explorers!
