OSLO, NORWAY (February 18, 2003) --- GE Hydro, a unit of GE Power Systems, has been awarded a US$3 million contract by Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) Generation Limited of the UK to refurbish three hydroelectric power stations in Scotland. The project is part of SSE's progressive program to upgrade its hydro assets to extend their usable life and meet the government's renewable energy targets.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA (February 12, 2003) --- GE Power Systems today took the next step in its planned acquisition of Jenbacher AG, launching a public tender offer for the Austrian-based supplier of reciprocating engines for power generation.

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL (February 10, 2003) --- GE Hydro is supplying three hydro turbines, generators and additional equipment to Campos Novos Energia S.A. for a new, 880-megawatt power plant in Campos Novos, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Under the US$47.8 million contract, the equipment will be installed at the new Usina Hidrelétrica Campos Novos facility along the Canoas River. Scheduled to enter service in 2006, the plant will provide power for the wholesale power market in Brazil.
