SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (March 4, 2003) --- Atlanta-based Cox Communications, Inc. has chosen the Smallworld Network Inventory™ portfolio of products from GE Network Solutions to help it achieve its ambitious plans for a rapid deployment of its GIS applications. Cox replaced its incumbent product with Smallworld Network Inventory in April 2002, and completed its first implementation within just eight months. Ultimately, the suite of products will be accessed by approximately 300 users, managing Cox's entire nationwide network.

Retrofitted GE LM6000 Provides Voltage Support at Canadian Power Plant

HOUSTON, TEXAS (February 28, 2003) --- GE Aeroderivative and Package Services (GE APS), a GE Power Systems business, has installed a synchronous condenser clutch module on a GE LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbine at ATCO Power's Valleyview Generating Station. The retrofit enables the unit to provide voltage support for the grid, as well as to generate power. Depending upon market conditions, this ability gives ATCO considerable operating flexibility.

GE Hydro to Upgrade Swiss Hydro Plant

OSLO, NORWAY (February 24, 2003) --- GE Hydro, a unit of GE Power Systems, has been awarded a US$26.8 million contract to upgrade Swiss power producer Ofible's plant in Biasca, Switzerland. The project marks the latest example of GE's continuing expansion into the European hydropower industry.
GE Hydro will supply six overhung two-jet, 50-megawatt Pelton turbines and three 333 rpm, 109 MVA generators producing 327 megawatts of power. The new equipment will replace eight overhung one-jet, Pelton turbines and four generators, which have been producing 288 megawatts.
