(2005년 12월 14일, 오하이오주, 에반데일) 대한항공이 구입 예정인 보잉 787 드림라이너에 장착할 엔진으로 GEnx엔진(10개 확정, 10개 옵션)이 선정되었다. 확정 엔진 구입 규모는 2억4천만불이며 엔진은 2009년 초 인도된다. "어떤 기준으로 놓고 보더라도 대한항공은 분명, 민간항공산업부문에서 중요한 역할을 담당하는 글로벌 항공사"라며 "승객용은 물론 화물용에서도 세계를 선도하는 항공사인 대한항공이 항공산업에서 가장 빠른 속도로 판매되고 있는 제트엔진중의 하나인 GEnx엔진을 선정한데 대해 매우 기쁘게 생각한다"고 GE 항공사업부 스콧 도넬리 사장은 말했다.
