The purchase represents the largest order of freight locomotives in Freightliner's history.
WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Illinois-based Exelon Nuclear, the nation's largest nuclear utility, has announced it will use GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy's (GEH) next-generation ESBWR reactor design if the company decides to build a new nuclear power plant in Texas.
Exelon Nuclear is studying locations in Matagorda and Victoria counties in Texas as potential reactor sites to help address that state's rapidly growing demand for energy.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GE Energy (NYSE: GE) has signed a global frame agreement with the renewable area of EDP -- Energias de Portugal, SA, the world's fourth largest wind project developer, to supply wind turbines totaling more than 500 megawatts of new capacity for wind projects to be developed during 2008 and 2009 in Europe and the United States. Total value of the agreement will be $730 million, bringing GE Energy's recent wind turbine order announcements to more than $1 billion.

Contract Totals More Than $350 Million
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GE Energy has received a contract of more than $350 million to supply 167 of its 1.5-megawatt wind turbines to Third Planet Windpower, LLC, a developer of wind projects throughout the United States.
The new machines will be used in one or more new wind farms Third Planet Windpower is developing in Texas, New Mexico, Nebraska and Wyoming that will be ready for turbines in 2009. The turbines purchased from GE will have the capacity to serve about 60,000 to 75,000 typical U.S. households.
