GE Volunteers take part in annual GE 5K Fun Run to raise funds for children with special needs

Dubai, UAE; February 15, 2012: More than 130 GE employees, their family members and friends took part in the first-ever Annual GE 5K Fun Run and raised AED16,590 in funds for children with special needs.

The cheque was presented by Elliot Lewis of GE Volunteers to Caron Whaley of The Riding for the Disabled Association of Dubai, an organisation working towards the all-round welfare of children with special needs.

WASHINGTON, DC -- For his novel approach to creating maps that enable researchers to zoom in on the human genome and reveal features of DNA structure inside the nucleus, Erez Lieberman Aiden has been named the 2011 Grand Prize winner for the GE & Science Prize for Young Life Scientists. The annual competition includes a grand-prize award of $25,000 and is supported by GE Healthcare and the journal Science, which is published by AAAS, the nonprofit science society.
