中国北京，2015年4月30日--1985年12月，两家中国的航空公司，国航西南分公司（原中国西南航空公司）和东航云南公司（原中国云南航空公司），接收了他们的首架由CFM国际公司CFM56-3发动机提供动力的波音737飞机。CFM当时还是一家非常年轻的公司，那批订单也算是CFM的早期订单之一。 自那时起，大中华区已逐渐成为CFM最大、最重要的客户地区之一，50多家本地区的航空公司订购了3900多台CFM56和LEAP发动机，为约1950架空客、波音和中国商飞的飞机提供动力。 2009年底，CFM与中国的合作又上升到了一个全新的水平，CFM先进的LEAP-1C发动机被中国商用飞机有限责任公司（中国商飞）选为其C919单通道飞机来自西方的唯一动力。C919按计划将于2015年下线。 “CFM与中国航空工业的关系与日俱增，” CFM国际公司总裁兼首席执行官让-保罗.埃邦加（Jean-Paul Ebanga）表示，“CFM今天所取得的巨大成就，跟中国客户是分不开的，我们为此深表感谢。国航西南公司和东航云南公司在CFM成立之初就乐于与我们合作。如今，我们之间已远远超越了客户与发动机制造商的关系。凭借世界一流的供应链及C919项目的成功进展，我们一直在不断寻找新的机会加强我们之间的合作。” 自从30年前首批发动机交付到中国，目前中国已成为CFM的母公司GE和斯奈克玛公司重要的供应商基地。
