Avitas Systems, a GE Venture, is the First FAA-Approved Civil Use of Beyond Visual Line of Sight with Radar

BOSTON, MA, October 16, 2018 - Today, Avitas Systems, a GE venture, announced that it received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval to fly an unmanned aerial system (UAS) beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) in Loving County, Texas. The permission authorizes Avitas Systems to fly a UAS over 55 pounds at low altitudes without a visual observer for industrial inspection; it is the first FAA-approved civil use of BVLOS with radar.

BOSTON-October 12, 2018--GE (NYSE: GE) today announced that it has moved the date of its third-quarter earnings release and webcast to Tuesday, October 30, 2018. 

The Company moved the call to allow GE Chairman and CEO Larry Culp to complete initial business reviews and site visits following his appointment on October 1. The Company will discuss the results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2018. Culp will share his initial observations, with more detail expected in early 2019.
