New technology for Nigeria's rail system

Erie, Pennsylvania, USA and Lagos, Nigeria (February 5, 2010) The Nigerian Ministry of Transport and GE Transportation announced today that the Nigerian Railway Corporation has taken delivery of the first five C25 diesel locomotives -- introducing new technology to Nigeria's rail system.  The locomotives will be used for both freight and passenger service.  The remaining 20 locomotives will be delivered in the second half of 2010.

GE Transportation Receives Order for 50 Locomotives

Erie, Penn., USA and Contagem, MG, Brazil (Jan. 7, 2010) - GE Transportation announced today it has signed an agreement with Cosan to deliver 50 new AC44i locomotives for freight transport starting in 2010 through Rumo, Cosan's subsidiary for logistics operations.  Cosan is the leading grower and processor of sugar cane and one of the largest ethanol and sugar producers in the world.  Cosan will use the new locomotives to haul sugar from its processing plants to port on the rail infrastructure provided by its partner America Latina Logistica (ALL).

Erie, Penn., USA and Contagem, Brazil (Dec. 3, 2009) - GE Transportation announced today it has signed an agreement with America Latina Logistica (ALL) to deliver 10 new AC44i locomotives in 2009 for freight transport.   ALL operates the largest independent general cargo railway in South America with a fleet of more than 1,000 locomotives and 21,000 km of railways connecting Brazil and Argentina.

GE Transportation's Evolution® Series Locomotive ready for Russia and 1520-area market

Moscow, Russia, (September 9, 2009) - GE Transportation announced that its Evolution Series® locomotive is on display at Russia's Expo 1520 and ready for the Russian and 1520-area markets.  The Evolution Series locomotive represents a $400 million investment by GE over eight years.  The innovative locomotive is equipped with a 12-cylinder diesel engine that produces the same 4,400 horsepower as its 16-cylinder predecessor.  The Evolution engine uses up to 5% less fuel, or approximately 1.1 million fewer liters of fuel over the life of the locomotive, while reducing emissions by approximatel
