GE Turboprops Help Power U.S. Coast Guard Deepwater Program

LYNN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The first CT7-9C3-powered CN-235-300 for the U.S. Coast Guard Deepwater program is now in the hands of the customer.

Deepwater is a multiyear, multibillion-dollar program to modernize and replace the Coast Guard's aging ships and aircraft. The twin-engine CN235 medium-range surveillance, maritime patrol aircraft (MRSMPA) replaces the Falcon 20 and provides more endurance and a more cost-effective mission solution.

TAP Portugal Selects GE Engines and Services for Fleet of Airbus A330s

FARNBOROUGH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2006--TAP Portugal has selected General Electric Company's CF6 engines to power five Airbus A330-200 aircraft in an engine deal valued at approximately $150 million (US).

In addition, TAP has signed with GE for a nine-year OnPoint(SM) Solutions service agreement for the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of the 11 CF6-80E1 engines powering this A330 fleet. The potential value over the life of the services agreement is valued at approximately $45 million (US).

Egypt's AMC Airlines Signs $40 Million OnPoint(SM) Solutions Agreement with GE

EVENDALE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2006--Egyptian charter carrier AMC Airlines has signed a 10-year, $40 million OnPoint(SM) Solutions service agreement with GE-Aviation's Engine Services operation for the overhaul and maintenance of the airline's fleet of CFM56-7B* engines.

The Cairo-based airline currently operates four CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft and will eventually acquire three additional aircraft. AMC, which was formed in 1992, operates charter flights from Europe to Egyptian tourist destinations.

Emirates Selects GEnx-Powered Boeing 747-8 Freighters for New Fleet

FARNBOROUGH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2006--Emirates has signed an agreement to purchase 10 Boeing 747-8 freighters, powered by the new GEnx engine. The agreement for 45 GEnx engines is valued at more than $600 million (USD). Delivery is scheduled to begin in 2010.

The GEnx, based on the highly successful GE90, will succeed GE's CF6 engine. Under development, GEnx is a best-selling engine for new wide-body aircraft, with orders exceeding 600 engines.

The aircraft leasing company has ordered GEnx engines for up to 24 Boeing 787 aircraft, including firm and options. The GEnx is a best-selling engine for new wide-body aircraft, with orders exceeding 600 engines.

UPS Selects GP7200 Engines for Airbus A380 Fleet

FARNBOROUGH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2006--UPS has selected GP7200 engines to power its fleet of Airbus A380 freighter aircraft.

The UPS engine selection follows its 10 firm Airbus A380 aircraft orders. UPS also has options on 10 additional A380 aircraft. The value of the order was not disclosed. Aircraft deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2009.
