2011 Record Year for CFM with $51.7 Billion U.S. in Orders/Commitments; Continues to Increase Production Rates to Record Highs

GE Announces Record Year For The World's Largest, Most Powerful Jet Engine

EVENDALE, Ohio--()--The GE90 engine experienced its most successful year in 2011, accumulating airline and freighter operator commitments for 400 engines with a list price of more than $11 billion. This surpasses the previous record of 250 engine commitments in 2007.

This year included a record-setting Emirates' order for 50 Boeing 777s, powered by GE90-115B engines, announced at the Dubai Air Show in November.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--()--DUBAI AIR SHOW --- Emirates has ordered 50 additional GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and has also signed a 12-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of these newly ordered GE90-115B engines. The engine order list price and service agreement is valued at approximately $6 billion (USD) over the life of the contract.

Delta Air Lines Places CFM56-7BE Engine Order to Power 100 Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ER Aircraft

WEST CHESTER, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Delta Air Lines today announced that it has ordered 200 CFM56-7BE engines to power 100 Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ER aircraft scheduled to begin delivery in 2013. The engine order is valued at approximately $2.2 billion U.S. at list price.

This new Delta order contributes to what has already been a very successful year for CFM. In 2011 to date, the company has received orders for more than 1,250 CFM56 engines at a value of approximately $12.5 billion U.S. at list price.
