值通用电气公司（GE）"绿色创想"战略在中国启动一周年之际，GE公司以豪华阵容亮相"2007北京国际节能环保展"，展示GE"绿色创想"系列产品，介绍业界领先节能环保技术及其在各个领域的广泛应用。同时，GE在此次展会上宣布在中国进一步加强"绿色创想"领域的研发及产品本地化投入，全力推进节能环保高端技术的更广泛应用，助力中国可持续发展和北京绿色奥运。
GE公司副总裁GE基础设施中国区总裁兼首席执行官安笛（Anders E. Solem）、GE消费及工业产品集团大中华区总裁兼首席执行官兼北京2008 奥林匹克业务总裁金飞翔（James D. Fisher）、前奥运冠军邓亚萍和北京节能环保中心主任陈怀伟共同为GE公司"绿色创想"展台揭幕。
以"绿色创想"为主题， GE公司在此次展览会上展示了其在节能环保领域的最新进展，特别是洁净煤IGCC 技术、利用生物气体和垃圾废气发电的颜巴赫（Jenbacher）发电机、风能发电、先进的水处理膜技术和节能照明等"绿色"产品和技术，全面展示了GE 致力于中国的可持续经济和北京2008绿色奥运建设的全面成果。

2007年6月20日，GE和法国斯奈克玛（属赛峰集团）的合资企业CFM International（CFM）与中国钱塘航空公司签订了1.5亿美元的CFM56-5B发动机购买合同。订购的发动机将于2009年至2011年相继交付钱塘航空公司，为其10架A319/A320新客机提供动力。
钱塘航空公司总部设在杭州，是浙江省首家私营挂牌的航空公司，预计在2008年1月开始客运业务。现今全球已有超过2,650台CFM56-5B发动机交付使用，并正以每月32台的速度增长。
