NBCユニバーサル（米国ニューヨーク州、マネージング・ディレクター日本代表：福田太一）は、傘下の株式会社NBCユニバーサルグローバル・ネットワークス・ジャパン （代表取締役：湯下滋央）が運営するSFドラマ・映画などを放送するCSチャンネル「SCI FI （サイファイチャンネル）」の最新海外ドラマ『サンクチュアリ』のオリジナルWEBバージョンとなる「Webisode」（読み：ウェビソード）全8エピソードを、ソフトバンクグループの協力の下、4月1日よりYahoo!動画等を通じて独占無料配信することを決定しました。
米国で、370万の有料ダウンロードを記録した「Webisode」
今回配信される新作TVドラマ『サンクチュアリ』は、新しいドラマ視聴方法として注目のWEBドラマ配信方式「Webisode」として2007年に米国で初めて配信公開され、公開後6ヵ月で370万の有料ダウンロードを記録したことで話題となりました。そのWEB上での大ヒットをきっかけに、米NBCユニバーサルはTVドラマ化を決定、製作することに至りました。

ボーイング社の新型機である747-8型機に搭載されるGE新型エンジンGEnx-2Bのフライトテストが、GEアビエーションの747型機向けフライングテストベッドを使用して開始されました。
ファーストフライトは今月、3月23日（月）に5時間にわたって実施され、装着された1基のエンジン、GEnx-2Bが機体のシステムや機器の機能性を立証し、4万フィート近くまで上昇してエンジン性能の基準となるベースラインを設定しました。今後も春から夏にかけて約40回のフライトテストが予定されています。
今年中の認証取得を予定しているGEnx-2Bは、ボーイングの新型747-8型機に搭載されるエンジンで、GEのフライング・テスト・ラボラトリーにおいて、近代化された747-100型機を用いたテストが実施されています。なお、同747-100型機は、ボーイングが16番目に製造し、パンアメリカン航空が1972年から運航していた747型機です。
