STOCKHOLM, SVERIGE -- den 2 juli 2009 -- GE Energy och det svenska vindkraftbolaget Arise Windpower AB tillkännagav idag den nordiska premiären för GE:s mest avancerade ecomaginationcertifierade vindkraftteknik med nya projekt i Sverige, det land som har de högsta målsättningarna i fråga om förnybara energikällor i EU. Johannesburg, South Africa -- July 22, 2009 -- General Electric's (GE) Women's Network has co-hosted a once-in-a-lifetime global business leadership experience in South Africa in association with members of The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) for five female college scholars from the United States. The five were recipients of the 2008-2009 Ann Fudge Scholarships, named after the first woman chairperson of the Council and former CEO of Young & Rubicam Brands.

GEと日立製作所、カメコ社の合弁会社であるグローバル・レーザー・エンリッチメント（GLE）は、本日、原子力発電所の燃料となる濃縮ウランの米国での供給増大をめざし、計画中の次世代濃縮施設の建設・運営に向けて、米国原子力規制委員会（NRC）に許可申請書を提出しました。GLEは、ノースカロライナ州ウィルミントン近郊に、レーザー技術を活用する初めての商用ウラン濃縮施設を建設する計画です。
原子力発電は、温室効果ガスの排出が実質的にゼロであり、今回、新たに本施設を建設することは、米国が抱えるエネルギー安全保障と気候変動対策という2つのニーズに応えると考えています。
