GEは、石油精製や石油化学産業向けスペシャルティーケミカル（特殊化学製品）を含むウオーター＆プロセステクノロジー事業において、伯東株式会社と代理店契約を締結しました。 本契約によりGEの技術と伯東の国内における専門的知識を活かし、国内の石油精製及び石油化学会社の運転効率の向上や製造コストの削減に貢献することができるようになります。
景気低迷に伴う利益の低下と原油価格の変動により、日本の石油精製会社にとって精製装置をより高い効率で運転することがますます重要になってきています。GEは、汚れ防止剤、腐食防止剤、エマルジョンブレーカー（相分離剤）やスカベンジャー（捕捉剤）等の幅広い製品を提供することにより生産性を高めてエネルギーコストを削減するほか、腐食や汚れによる設備維持費の増加を防ぎ、より低コストで環境や健康、安全に配慮することを可能にします。

A companhia é líder no cultivo e no processamento de cana de açúcar e uma das maiores produtoras de açúcar e etanol do mundo. As novas locomotivas serão utilizadas para o transporte do açúcar das fábricas de processamento até o porto para exportação.
