Prototyp von GE: Spezielle Kühltechnologie erhöht Lichtstärke um fast das Fünffache
Niskayuna / MÜNCHEN, 04. November 2010 --- GE hat die Leistungsstärke von Licht emittierenden Dioden (LED) entscheidend verbessert. Kürzlich stellte das Unternehmen einen LED-Prototypen vor, der mit einer Lichtstärke von 1.500 Lumen genauso hell wie eine Standard-100-Watt-Halogenlampe leuchtet. Zum Vergleich: Aktuelle Standard-LEDs strahlen mit 350 Lumen. Der Protyp benötigt für diese Lichtkraft im Vergleich zur Halogenlampe lediglich ein Drittel der Energie.

飞机发动机双冷却器提升LED照明性能
2010年11月3日，上海---近日，来自GE全球研发中心，GE照明集团以及马里兰大学的LED项目小组的科学家宣布，他们成功地将GE飞机发动机的双冷却技术应用在LED照明中。装置了这项新冷却技术的LED灯具，可以达到1500流明的照度，亮度相当于100瓦的卤素灯，但只需要其三分之一的能量。在提高亮度的同时，该技术还能够同时减少LED芯片数量，提高灯具寿命并降低灯具尺寸及重量。这意味着LED照明得以在普通照明方面被更加广泛的普及。
GE照明集团全球产品总经理John Strainic说："科学家们突破了限制LED在普通照明领域得以商业化的一些主要障碍。我们在亮度、热量管理、尺寸及重量等方面获得的突破，打开了通向固态照明时代的大门。"

GE's international venture capital specialists in healthcare and clean tech (energy, power and water) are meeting at MaRS to explore partnership opportunities with Ontario based start-up companies on November 2, 2010. MaRS is coordinating meetings between 16 clean tech and healthcare companies, which will meet one-on-one with GE's VC specialists. (November 2, 2010): GE Capital, the financial services division of GE, announced today it has reached agreement to sell an 18.6% stake in Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S ('Garanti Bank') to Spanish banking group, Grupo Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ('BBVA'). GE will receive $3.776 billion (bn) and retain 2.25% of Garanti shares.

2010년 10월 27일, 경북 김천 - GE라이팅코리아㈜ (대표: 김기정)와 ㈜티솔루션 (대표 이홍) 및 ㈜미강이피텍 (대표: 강주열)은 내일 28일 '조명기구 생산 및 판매 협력'에 대한 본 계약을 체결하고, 고효율 가로등기구, 보안등기구 제품 생산 및 조명 응용분야 기술개발, 판매 등에 관한 협력을 시작한다고 밝혔다. 이로써, GE의 한국 내 조명사업법인인 GE라이팅코리아㈜는 국내에 생산 거점을 확보하고 판매망을 확대하게 되었다.
GE라이팅코리아㈜는 경북 김천에 소재한 국내 조명기구 생산업체인 ㈜티솔루션과의 기술제휴 및 생산 계약을 통해 고효율 조명제품 (가로등기구와 보안등기구 등)을 OEM(주문자상표부착방식)으로 생산하게 되며, 향후 LED조명제품으로 협력분야를 확대하기로 하였다. 또한 대구 소재 ㈜미강이피텍을 통해 동 제품의 판매와 시장확대를 추진하게 된다.
