GE Announces New President & CEO of Europe

Paris - Jan 17, 2018 - GE (NYSE: GE) today announces the appointment of Peter Stracar as President & CEO of GE’s European region. He succeeds Mark Hutchinson who announced his retirement from GE effective Jan 1. Peter will report to Alex Dimitrief, President & CEO of GE’s Global Growth Organization (GGO).
 

Prior to his current role, Peter has been the CEO of GE Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) since 2013, responsible for GE’s growth strategy and leading a team of more than 20,000 people across manufacturing, sourcing, sales and other functions.

GE、東京電力・横浜火力発電所にてガスタービン8基交換完了

出力・発電効率向上で燃料費を大幅削減

GEパワーは本日、東京電力フュエル＆パワー株式会社の横浜火力発電所8号系列第2軸のガスタービン交換工事を終え、2015年3月から実施してきた同発電所7号系列・8号系列の合計8基の全てのガスタービン交換工事完了を発表しました。
この工事はガスタービンを9F.01から9F.03に取り替える他、燃焼器システム、制御装置をアップグレードするもので、これらの改良によりコンバインドサイクル発電１軸あたり定格出力は350MWから377MWに増加します。また、発電効率も54.1%から55.8%と向上し、１軸あたり年間約10億円の燃料費削減が可能となります。さらに、二酸化炭素排出量も１軸あたり年間約３万トン削減が見込まれているため、7号系列・8号系列の8軸全て交換することで燃料費は年間約80億円削減、二酸化炭素排出量は年間約24万トン削減がそれぞれ見込まれます。

【シンガポール、2018年1月9日】GEは新たに創設されたAPAC（アジア・パシフィック）地域の社長兼CEOにヴァウター・ヴァン・ヴォシュ（Vouter Van Wersch）を任命しました。このAPAC地域にはASEAN10カ国に日本、韓国、オーストラリア、ニュージーランドとパプア・ニューギニアを含みます。

今回の人事は、2015年にアルストムとの統合後、GE ASEANの社長兼CEOに就任したヴァウターの管掌範囲が広がったものです。

ヴァン・ヴォシュは今回の任命を受け、次のように述べています。「15カ国で8億4,000万人以上の人口を有するこのAPAC地域には、多くのエキサイティングな機会があり、私は素晴らしいチームとともにこのダイナミックで多様な地域でGEの成長を推進できることを楽しみにしています。このAPACは、大規模なインフラ開発を計画し、スピーディな成長を遂げる新興国から、生産性・効率向上のため高度なデジタル・インダストリアル・ソリューション導入をリードする先進国まで様々な国をカバーしています。」

医療課題の解決に取り組むヘルスケアカンパニー、GEヘルスケア・ジャパン株式会社（東京都日野市、代表取締役社長兼CEO: 多田荘一郎）は、12月9日（土）、MRI（磁気共鳴断層撮影装置）の先進的な撮像技術の工夫の共有を通じて、MRI診断の質の向上を図る「Signa甲子園2017」（MR Signaユーザーズミーティング・全国大会）を下記の通り、開催しました。

MRI 画像は、撮像を担当する診療放射線技師や臨床検査技師のテクニックに依存する面が大きいため、弊社では、GE MRユーザーがそれぞれの撮像技術の創意工夫などの情報交換や交流を行う「Signaユーザーズミーティング」を全国各地で開催しています。また、さらなる交流を図り、GE MRユーザーの皆様に先進的な撮像技術を習得していただけるよう、2005年よりユーザーズミーティング（以下UM）の全国大会である「Signa甲子園」を実施しています。

40 Boston Public School Students will Receive Awards Annually

Dec.  20, 2017 - Boston, MA - The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and GE Foundation announce the establishment of a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who are graduating Boston Public Schools and plan to pursue a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) major in college. Starting with the graduating class of 2018 and running through 2022, 40 seniors will each be awarded $2,500 to be used for college.
