GE today released its 2013 Annual Report, available at www.ge.com/annualreport. The title of the report is "Progress," also the theme of GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt's letter to shareowners. "Progress is about getting better, being better, doing better; this is why GE people get up every day," Immelt writes.

GEがおこなっているボランティア活動「地域に役立つ発明家になろう！プロジェクト」は、GE社員が小学校を訪れ、児童5-6名と社員2-3名が一つのチームになって学校付近の課題を見つけ、全員で解決策を討議・発明し、クラスで発表するワークショップです。
過去11年間継続的に実施しており、2013年度は7ヵ所の学校・施設で開催しました。2013年の年間優秀作品に選ばれた 宮城県石巻市開北小学校6年生のアイディアに対し、今般、石巻市の地元企業の支援を得ることができ、子どもたちの夢を叶える製品化が実現しました。（写真 は右から「春」「秋」「冬」篇のごみ箱）

GE Aviation today announced the expansion of its maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Brisbane airport.
The expansion of the building, as well as capital, personnel and training investment will enable the base to complete Bombardier Q400* and Bombardier Q400 NextGen*, SAAB 340 and Fokker 50 propeller repairs for regional turboprop fleets in the Asia Pacific region.
