Economically Extracting Significantly More Oil from Current Oil Reservoirs

I’m Trevor Kirsten and I lead a team of GE researchers that investigate a range of energy technologies. One of the fascinating things of my job is contemplating questions like: What will the future energy mix look like? This is difficult to predict but it is fair to argue that oil will still be in the mix for many years to come and this will be extended by Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technologies. GE is likely to be providing key equipment in the EOR application area to enable these operations.

SHANNON, Ireland, October 2, 2013 -- GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, today announced an agreement to lease four new Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft to Travel Service. Two of the new aircraft are scheduled for delivery in early 2018 and two in early 2019. The aircraft are the first leased from GECAS' order of 75 Boeing 737 MAX models already announced.
