GE's New Sievers* M5310 C Total Organic Carbon Analyzer Boosts Productivity for Municipalities

TREVOSE, PA.---April 10, 2014---GE (NYSE: GE) today introduced its new Sievers* M5310 C Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer to measure TOC in a broad range of raw and drinking water samples. GE developed the new M5310 C Analyzer to enhance its customers' productivity by producing TOC results in two minutes, twice as fast as its predecessor.

I was born a curious kid. Since my hands became capable of coordinated movement, their role was to satisfy the question of "how are things made?"

I was interested in everything: electronics, mechanics (I loved model aircraft and tinkering with their engines), all things technical. Eventually, though, I was irresistibly attracted to chemistry. Perhaps this is because as a science, chemistry can be so much more transformational, at times it may even appear as the closest thing to magic.

GE completes acquisition of Thermo Fisher HyClone™

GE (NYSE:GE) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Thermo Fisher's HyClone™ cell culture media and sera, and gene modulation and magnetic beads businesses. The acquisition allows GE to expand its offering of tools, technologies and services for the discovery and manufacture of innovative new medicines, vaccines and diagnostics in its growing Life Sciences business.

Commenting on the acquisition, Brian Hood, General Manager of GE Healthcare's A&NZ Life Sciences business was excited about the latest addition to the Life Sciences portfolio.
