April 29, 2004 -- ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- General Electric Co. (GE) forecasts the number of small commercial jets in service will more than triple in the next 20 years, increasing from 2,000 aircraft in 2004 to 6,800 aircraft in 2023.
GE expects its CF34 engine order book to reach 400 this year. Engine deliveries will top 400 this year, marking the third consecutive year of more than 400 engines delivered to customers.

April 28, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has selected the General Electric CF6-80E1 engine to power its six Airbus A330-200 aircraft on order. Delivery of these new aircraft will begin in the summer of 2005.
Additionally, KLM's Engineering and Maintenance division will become a CF6-80E1 Overhaul Center of Excellence, expanding its CF6 maintenance and overhaul capability for KLM's own fleet and for other customers.
