Skander has more than 18 years of experience across financial services in Australia, UK and the US, including seven with GE. He steps into the CEO role from Managing Director, Retailer Solutions, where he delivered double-digit growth, servicing over 3 million customers and providing financing solutions to key retail partners including Harvey Norman, Coles Group and Myer.
CHALFONT ST GILES, UK, 27 AUGUST 2009 - GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), today announced that Stephen Minger, Ph.D, previously Senior Lecturer and Director of King's College London's Stem Cell Biology Laboratory, will join GE Healthcare's Life Sciences business as head of Research and Development for Cell Technologies on September 1st 2009.
GE announced second-quarter 2009 earnings from continuing operations (attributable to GE) of $2.9 billion, or $.26 per share attributable to common shareowners, down 47% from second quarter 2008.

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--27 May 2009-- GE today announced that it has surpassed its first ecomagination goal to reduce its own greenhouse gas intensity, and is making progress against its other goals for revenue growth, water and technology innovation.
GE announced first-quarter 2009 earnings from continuing operations (attributable to GE) of $2.8 billion, or $.26 per share attributable to common shareowners, down 40% from first quarter 2008.
