TEDxGE Kuala Lumpur 2014: Speaker Series

In the recent TEDxGE event in Kuala Lumpur, we had the opportunity to welcome three distinguished leaders to share their thoughts and opinions on ‘What the Future Looks Like’. We had Irving Tan, President of Cisco Asia Pacific and Japan; Johan Mahmood Merican, Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp and Jeff Immelt, Chairman & CEO of GE to speak to the GE Employees.
Video 1: Irving Tan – Connecting the unconnected

Irving Tan, President of Cisco Asia Pacific and Japan, spoke about ‘Connecting the Unconnected’. In this day and age, the Internet of Things (IoT) allows us to drive transformation for a better outcome and efficiency. Irving believes that the IoT is an ecosystem that not one company can build but is established with a collective effort from everyone. Three main pillars that will drive this ecosystem are the innovative technology, customers and strategic partnerships.

Globalisation has opened up companies to various parts of the world. This has allowed companies to share technology, skills, knowledge and talent from one another.  Johan Merican, CEO of TalentCorp Malaysia, spoke about the need for companies to have a diverse workforce to stay competitive.
