Operational since early 2015, the Manjung 4 plant is playing its part in meeting demand for energy throughout Malaysia that is tipped in the World Energy Markets Observatory (WEMO) 2017 report, to increase by 4.8% per annum right up to 2030.
With coal set to be one of the primary fuels in Malaysia’s future energy mix, Manjung 4’s USC technologies enable large scale energy production in accordance with stringent environmental standards reducing emissions by 4-5% compared to previous units. GE supplied the full engineering, procurement and engineering expertise and equipment for Manjung 4 including its boiler, steam turbine, generator, and the complete set of Air Quality Control Systems.
