The best and the brightest is usually a hyperbolic boast, but it was a data-packed statement of fact at GE’s Decoding Industry event in April. The day was convened to share inspiring ideas on the Industrial Internet, connectivity, the future of work and rethinking our approach to innovation.
If you weren’t there, now you can listen in, too. GE has gathered all the speakers’ presentations—short, sharp TED-talk-style segments—and made them available to the rest of us in a new podcast series, Decoding Industry.
It’s an audio parade of inspiring anecdotes and passionate ideas on how we work, collaborate and think smarter. Hear from Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, Atlassian’s Dom Price, CSIRO’s Dr Cathy Foley, Data61’s Adrian Turner, Seek founder Paul Bassat, Australian of the Year and inspiration medical scientist Alan Mackay-Sim, and GE Digital’s Mark Sheppard.
“Inside GE we talk about productivity for us, productivity for our customers, productivity for the world,” global CEO and chairman Jeff Immelt told STEM author and self-described geek Adam Spencer, who was also MC for the Decoding Industry day. “So the ability to partner with customers, the ability to build open systems, the ability to build open ecosystems, that’s really critical.”
