Earth Hour 2015 saw almost 10,000 iconic monuments falling to darkness and over 70,000 events held around the world. This year’s Earth Hour aims to be bigger still.
Earth Hour is not about saving energy over one hour, but about raising awareness globally of the need to live more sustainable lives. Sea levels rose more than 5 inches during the 20th century. It’s likely that more than half of that was directly caused by global warming. Some predictions suggest a rise of more than 2.5 feet could follow in the next hundred years. We need to act now.
Together we can make a difference. So as individuals, here’s a look at some of the ways you can help the planet, in simple ways, from the comfort of your own home.
