New Delhi, April 04, 2011: GE today announced the appointment of Vishal Wanchoo as the Growth Initiatives Leader for GE India. As part of the senior leadership team, Vishal will report to John Flannery, President and CEO, GE India.
Driving an aggressive growth agenda over the next few years, Vishal Wanchoo brings with him deep expertise and an enhanced capability to better understand customer needs and translate them into a sustainable localization strategy. As the Growth Initiatives Leader, Vishal will work closely with GE's India business leaders to develop and lead a consolidated commercial game plan and "Go to market strategy" for the India region.
Speaking on the appointment, John Flannery said, "A key market for GE, India continues to enjoy tremendous growth. The GE India team needs leaders with depth of expertise to better understand the needs of our customers in the country and grow as a "local" Indian company. We are delighted that a highly accomplished leader like Vishal Wanchoo will be part of GE's India leadership team."
Vishal Wanchoo will be responsible for building strategic and tactical marketing capability across GE businesses with a tight linkage to product management and technology, on one hand, and leading the development as well as deployment of a high caliber sales force across the businesses, on the other.
Prior to this appointment, Vishal has been leading GE's global Healthcare IT business; he will be relocating to India in his new role.
Vishal joined GE in 1997 as GM of the HCIT business and was promoted to GE Officer in 2005
