November 06, 2003

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2003--Al Stanley, 40, has been named president & CEO of ERC Global Life & Health, a $2.6 billion unit of GE's Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC).

The appointment is part of a strategy to focus on selected markets and products, creating a smaller, higher return life and health reinsurance business.

Stanley has most recently served as executive vice president of operations for ERC with responsibility for claims and customer service. Previously, he served as CEO of GE Mexico and Six Sigma Quality leader for GE Lighting.

Al Stanley will provide strong leadership for our clients and our expert teams as we focus our life and health reinsurance unit.

Our U.S. accident and health reinsurance clients and our European life and health reinsurance clients will continue to have access to a wide array of specialized products and services, said Ron Pressman, GE ERC chairman, president and CEO.

GE's Employers Reinsurance Corporation (NYSE: GE) is a company that protects lives, property and reputations. ERC serves clients with reinsurance and commercial insurance and other risk management services. More information on ERC is available at www.ercgroup.com.
