The Caribbean underwriting team will be led by James Grieve and the Latin American team will be led by Marc Poliquin. Both report to Kenneth W. Brandt, President & CEO, Americas P&C Treaty Reinsurance and are based in ERC's Latin America office in Coral Gables, Florida.
They succeed Heriberto Colon, who opened the Latin American Regional Office for ERC 12 years ago.
The Latin American and Caribbean teams are integral parts of the larger Americas property and casualty reinsurance team, says Ken Brandt. We maintain close relationships with our customers in this region by setting up these highly professional teams embedded in and supported by the expertise and infrastructure of ERC's $4 billion global P&C reinsurance business.
We take this opportunity to thank Herb Colon for his 12 years of service at ERC, Brandt added. Herb joined the company in 1990 and successfully developed the ERC franchise in the region. We all wish him well in his retirement.
James Grieve, Second Vice President, the new leader of the Caribbean customer team, has 22 years experience in the reinsurance business, 17 of which he spent working in the London market. Grieve transferred to ERC's Coral Gables office in 1997 where he became P&C Branch Manager for Caribbean and Latin America in 2001. In his new role he will return to focus on the Caribbean customer segment.
Marc Poliquin, Second Vice President, will lead the Latin American customer team. Marc has nine years industry experience. Poliquin joined ERC Canada in 1994 and transferred to Coral Gables in 1999 to launch ERC's Specialty initiative. In 2000, he subsequently assumed the Specialty Manager role for the region.
In the region ERC provides the traditional P&C treaty reinsurance such as Property, Casualty, Bond/Fidelity and Surety. The product range stretches from quota share and surplus facilities to excess of loss and various types of catastrophe agreements.
