They teach inner city kids how to be good citizens. They keep
families from having to live on the streets. They provide counseling
and shelter to troubled teens. Every day Kansas City non-profit
agencies care for thousands of families and children, silently serving
the community and making Kansas City a better place to live.
Today nine Greater Kansas City non-profit organizations will
receive a special delivery. Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC),
an Overland Park-based GE company, will recognize these organizations
through its Community Caravan by personally delivering more than
$80,000 in contributions and gifts. GE ERC supports these
organizations because of their commitment to young people and the
measurement of their results.
GE ERC employees will board the decorated van at company
headquarters located at 5200 Metcalf and make their way throughout the
Greater Kansas City area delivering balloon bouquets, oversize checks,
and stacks of children's books. GE ERC President and CEO Ron Pressman
