Japanese company has cooperative agreement with GE Oil & Gas
FLORENCE, ITALY (March 19, 2003) --- Under a cooperative agreement with GE Oil & Gas, Kobe Steel Ltd. (KOBELCO) of Japan is packaging GE10-1 gas turbines for industrial power generation in Japan and Southeast Asia.
The agreement forms the basis for a long-term cooperation between the two companies, building on the technical expertise of GE Oil & Gas in flange-to-flange turbomachinery products and the broad experience of Kobe Steel in supplying power packages for cogeneration projects.
"This cooperative agreement will allow both companies to better serve the Asian market, enabling us to meet local content requirements and the critical-to-quality issues of our Asian customers," said Demetrio Malara, product leadership director for GE Oil & Gas.
The GE10-1 is a heavy duty gas turbine designed and developed for power generation, including industrial cogeneration. The machine can burn a variety of fuels, including natural gas, distillate oil and low BTU fuel. Particular emphasis has been placed on the design of a Dry Low NO
