CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2006--GE today announced that Timothy R. Schitter has been named Vice President for Sales, overseeing all petrochemical sales and services activities for the company's Rail Services unit. Mr. Schitter will be responsible for providing commercial leadership and driving customer loyalty programs for this growing segment of the railcar leasing and services business.
Mr. Schitter will also be responsible for expanding Rail Services' presence throughout North America as well as providing value-added products and services to customers. These services include new offerings presently available or under development by GE such as RailWise(TM), a multisensor network that tracks cargo and monitors temperature and other environmental conditions of railcar contents, and Maintenance Max(TM), a suite of maintenance and administrative management services.
Mr. Schitter joined GE in October 2005, as a Senior Account Manager for Rail Services in the Food, Agriculture & Mineral segment, where he had responsibility for leasing sales and selling services in the food, agricultural, and mineral marketplace.
Over the course of more than 17 years in the railcar leasing industry, Mr. Schitter has developed and directed national sales forces with respect to the sale and lease of railcars to shippers throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Schitter also has extensive sales management experience at a leading designer, builder and manufacturer of specialized railcars. He holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Indiana University.
