HOUSTON, TEXAS - December 12, 2005 : --GE's oil and gas business will supply two turbo-compressor trains to Pluspetrol Per'u Corporation S.A., the operator of Block 56 of the Pagoreni gas field, a remote region 500 kilometers east of Lima, Per'u
Block 56 is owned by a joint venture headed by Pluspetrol Per'u Corporation S.A. and also including Hunt Oil Company of Per'u LLC; SK Corporation Sucursal del Per'u, Tecpetrol del Peru S.A.C. and Sonatrach Per'u Corporation S.A.C.
Gas and condensates will be produced from several wells to be drilled at two locations in Block 56 of the Pagoreni field, and the existing facilities will be expanded to accommodate the additional production. Flow lines will be installed to connect surface locations with the main processing facilities at Malvinas, which is approximately 24 kilometers south on the Urubamba River.
The new GE compressor trains will be installed at the Malvinas plant for the transportation of additional gas via a Transportadora de Gas del Per'u pipeline, and for gas reinjection at the Pagoreni field. Each train will include a GE Frame MS5002D gas turbine along with BCL405, BCL405A and BCL407B centrifugal compressors. The GE contract also includes start-up support, installation and commissioning services, and spare parts.
The equipment will be manufactured at GE's oil and gas facilities in Florence and Massa, Italy and will be shipped to Per? in December of 2006.
Previously GE supplied similar equipment for Block 88-Camisea, which is adjacent to the new project in Block 56. "We are pleased that our technology has again been selected by Pluspetrol, a leader in Latin American energy integration," said Claudi Santiago, president of GE's oil and gas business.
Founded in Argentina in 1976, today Pluspetrol has expanded into a regional integrated energy company. Its activities include exploration of oil and gas reserves, oil and gas production, electricity generation and strategic participation in the refining and oil and gas distribution industries.
