General Electric showcases aluminum industry solutions at Arabal

GE's Enterprise Solutions, Sensing & Inspection Technologies and Energy businesses to highlight modern technologies

Dubai, UAE; November 10, 2008: General Electric Company (GE) will showcase its modern technologies and solutions that support the aluminum industry at the 13th International Arab Aluminum Conference & Exhibition (Arabal), to be held from November 9 to 12 at Grand Hyatt Dubai. Presently, GE is involved in over 41 projects in the aluminum industry world-wide, including four in the GCC countries.

To be attended by key global and Middle East industry leaders, the Arabal exhibition, in its 25th anniversary year now, will cover the 'Changing Dynamics of the Aluminum Industry in the Gulf region'.

Isam Moursy, General Manager, GE Enterprise Solutions, Middle East. said: "Aluminum is one of the strongest manufacturing sectors in the Middle East, with the region today accounting for over 7 per cent of the total 38 million tons of the metal produced globally. Several GCC nations like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar are world-leading names in aluminum production, and GE has been closely involved with the industry for several years now."

He added: "GE's cross-business solutions offer a range of products and services to customers, allowing them the full spectrum needed to meet their needs throughout the smelting process. These solutions range from power transition, to security."

GE is highlighting environmental protection and customer safety in its solutions, which focus on optimizing performance and profitability of facilities, and helping customers achieve environmental targets at minimal cost, with a maximized business advantage.

As part of GE's ongoing commitment to maximizing plant safety for its customers, the company offers a range of security products and services including integrated control systems, to protect aluminum plants. GE's products are also vital in quick detection of fire incidents, if any, and maximize the efficiency in the evacuation process.
