General Electric Names Three New Officers

March 31, 2003

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2003--General Electric has announced the appointment of three new company officers.
Victor Abate, 38, is Vice President of Power Generation Technology, a position he has held at GE Power Systems since April 2002. Vic joined GE Power Systems in 1990 where he has had several roles in Engineering, Services, Production and Quality. In 1996, he led the generator business as the Master Black Belt and Quality Leader. In 1999, he was appointed as Fulfillment Leader of the turbine volume ramp in Energy Products and later became the General Manager of Steam Turbine Technology where he focused on repositioning the product line. Vic earned both his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also earned a Master's degree in Engineering from Union College, Schenectady, NY.
Michael Laming, 51, is Senior Vice President of GE Insurance, a position he has held since August 2002. Prior to GEI, Michael was the HR leader for GE Financial, where he played a key role integrating several key financial services and insurance acquisitions into the GE culture. A graduate of GE's Manufacturing Program, Michael has a broad base of experience in HR leadership roles in the industrial and financial services businesses. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Organizational Development, both from Bowling Green State University.
Hank Reeves, 43, recently joined GE Plastics as Vice President of GEP Americas. Reeves joined GEP from GE Capital, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer for GE Mortgage Insurance. Reeves joined GE in 1988 as Vice President and Business Development Leader GE Capital's Vendor Financial Services (VFS) business unit. He was named VP and National Sales Manager in 1991, Senior Vice President and Industry General Manager in 1994 and Group President for VFS in 1997. Prior to joining GE, Reeves served in a variety of business leadership roles with Chase Manhattan and Marine Midland Banks. Reeves holds a B.S. in Finance from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
