FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 2003--General Electric has announced the appointment of four new company officers.
Dennis Cooke, 39, became General Manager, Global MR Business, with GE Medical Systems in June 1999. He began his professional career in 1988 as a software engineer with Proxim Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif. He joined GE Medical Systems in 1989 as X-ray Manufacturing Cycle Time Project Manager. In 1993 he was promoted to Global Product Manager, Classical R&F in X-ray. In 1996 he became Manager, X-ray Platform Planning, responsible for the Apollo Flat Panel Detector. Before taking his present position, he served as Manager, Global OTR and Logistics in 1998. Dennis has a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Leonard Kim, 40, is Chief Information Officer, GE Consumer Finance, a position he has held since 1999. Leonard joined GE in 1998 as Chief Information Officer for the former Consumer Financial Services (CFS) business in Mason, Ohio, responsible for all systems and technology supporting GE's domestic consumer bank card and corporate card businesses. Prior to joining GE, Leonard spent five years at Fannie Mae in Washington D.C. He also worked for two years at Automation Research Systems, an information technology consulting firm and also spent six years in the U.S. Army in the Army Signal Corps. Leonard has a B.S. in Engineering from Princeton University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Kathryn McCarthy, 35, recently was named Vice President, Corporate Audit Staff. Katy began her GE career at GE Power Systems on the Financial Management Program. She then moved to GE's Corporate Audit Staff and progressed to Executive Audit Manager. Katy joined GE Plastics Europe in 1998 as Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. She was then appointed Manager, Global Operations Analysis for Plastics. In 2001, Katy was appointed the Chief Financial Officer for GE Transportation Systems. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
David Tucker, 48, is Vice President, Global Sales for GE Transportation Systems, a position he has held since June 2003. Dave joined GE in 1977 and has held various positions with GE's Transportation Systems business in the areas of Product Service, Service and Maintenance, Marketing and Field Sales, Business Development, and Customer Service. Dave served as General Manager, Americas Locomotive Marketing/Sales/Service Operation and in 1996 was named General Manager, Global Service Operation. Dave graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Technology from Southeastern Massachusetts University.
