GE Transportation Donates for the Human Resource program for Students in Yogyakarta
Jakarta, 26 January 2012
-- Today, President and CEO of GE Transportation Lorenzo Simonelli announced a donation of $25.000 handed over in a GLM Charity Award ceremony in Jakarta to the Executive Director of Prestasi Junior Indonesia Robert Gardiner. The photo session was attended by President and CEO of GE ASEAN Stuart Dean, President and CEO GE Indonesia Handry Satriago, also HR & General Affairs Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Joko Margono.

This donation is GE Transportation's support to GE Indonesia and Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) in expanding its educational and entrepreneurship training program for students in Yogyakarta. This donation was the award that Lorenzo Simonelli received from GE Global Leadership Meeting Awards 2012 where GE recognizes businesses with outstanding performance in the previous year, and the award is to be donated to any charities in the whole world. This time, Simonelli chose to donate it to a CSR program of GE in Indonesia, since there are so many volunteer-supported programs by GE Volunteers in Indonesia, especially in the field of education.

The donation was given to PJI for its program in Yogyakarta which was also supported by PT KAI, one of GE Transportation's customers, where the students can participate in a Job Shadow visit in PT KAI's office.
