GE Tops List of World's Most Respected Companies for Fifth Consecutive Year

February 06, 2003

Dubai, February 6, 2003 ---- General Electric (GE) has been named the world's most respected company for the fifth consecutive year by the Financial Times, in a worldwide survey of chief executives conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"It's an honour for us to receive this great accolade as it reflects positively on GE businesses around the world and is an achievement based on consistency in performance and adherence to core values," said Abdullah Taibah, Corporate Regional Executive for GE in the Middle East.

The survey requested 1,000 chief executives from more than 20 countries to identify the companies they most respected. The executives and key stakeholders were also asked to identify companies that produced the best value for consumers and shareholders as well as those that best managed environmental resources. New to this year's survey, the top executives were also requested to name their choice of companies demonstrating the most integrity, where GE ranked first choice.

CEO's from around the world paid tribute to GE's consistent performance, its ability to succeed in such a diverse range of businesses and "its innovative, creative, adaptable, aggressive, flexible approach," according to one respondent.
