TREVOSE, Penn. (August 28, 2006) ---GE Water & Process Technologies, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), will showcase ZENON Membrane Solutions' Z-MODTM Packaged Plants for Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems and tertiary ultrafiltration at booth # 3131 at WEFTEC 2006 at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, October 21-25, 2006. The recent introduction of the new 1 MGD Z-MOD--X packaged MBR plant gives GE the industry's largest offering of pre-engineered immersed membrane systems for wastewater treatment. With capacities ranging from 5,000 GPD to over 6 MGD (when multiple units are linked together) clients can select the system size and configuration that best meets current needs and offers a modular architecture that can be easily expanded to accommodate future demands.
Incorporating the proven large-plant performance of ZeeWeed® membranes into compact, and cost-effective pre-engineered systems, Z-MOD MBR systems are ideal for new or retrofit applications at municipal, industrial, and land development sites. ZENON Packaged Plants for tertiary filtration systems can help aging or underperforming conventional wastewater treatment plants produce higher quality effluent that meets or exceeds discharge regulations. The near-drinking-water-quality effluent can be safely reused for irrigation, industrial processes or groundwater recharge, reducing demand on potable water supplies and creating a new drought-proof water resource for a community or business.
The expandable building-block components of a Z-MOD Packaged Plant are pre-assembled and factory tested, minimizing construction costs, ensuring quick delivery, and simplifying plant start-up. These highly automated, plug-and-play ultrafiltration systems can be set up quickly in virtually any location and outperform conventional treatment alternatives in all categories, offering superior quality effluent, reduced operating costs, smaller plant footprints, and more reliable performance.
With the recent acquisition of ZENON Environmental Inc., GE is now the largest single-source supplier of the industry's broadest range of advanced membrane solutions for water and wastewater. GE has the products and expertise to tackle the world's toughest water challenges. Through GE Energy Financial Services, funding is available for plants in the commercial, industrial and municipal infrastructure water, reuse and wastewater treatment markets worldwide.
With over 25 years of membrane experience, ZENON Membrane Solutions, a part of GE Water & Process Technologies, has proven operation in large, medium and small MBR plants across a broad range of applications, including municipalities, industrial sites, green buildings and
