Dubai, UAE; February 6, 2013: GE (NYSE: GE) has been officially recognized by Great Place to Work Institute, a global research and management consultancy, as one of the 15 'Top Companies to Work for in the UAE.' The ranking is based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management practices.

Last year, GE was honored as one of the Top 5 'Great Place to Work' for women and Emiratis. GE was earlier also ranked among the world's top 25 most inventive companies by 'Business Week,' and in the top 50 most innovative companies ranking by 'Fast Company,' GE is an equal opportunity company.

At a ceremony held at H Hotel in Dubai, Wayne Davies, Head of HR, Middle East North Africa & Turkey, received the latest award, on behalf of GE.

Nabil Habayeb, GE's President & Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, said: "The honor as one of the top 15 companies to work for in the UAE is a testament to our credentials as an employer of choice. To pick the "Top Companies to Work for in the UAE", the Great Place to Work® Institutes conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to the employees from each company.

The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.

To ensure the continued personal and professional growth of employees, GE has an annual investment of US$1 billion in employee training and development globally. The company offers several training programs for its employees in addition to promoting entrepreneurial culture.

GE routinely takes part in career fairs and also has a clearly structured human resources program to identify and nurture UAE national and female talent. Among the key programs offered by GE for employees to accomplish their full potential and evolve personally and professionally are the Edison Engineering Development Program, Financial Management Program, Communications Leadership Development Program, Commercial Leadership Program, Field Engineering Program, HR Leadership Program and Experienced Commercial Leadership Program.

With over 1,000 employees in the UAE and eight facilities, GE last year opened a new green and contemporary office in Sowwah Square, in Abu Dhabi, which uses recycled, renewable and sustainable materials in its design, apart from the company's ecomagination-certified products.
